Blue Swirl (Yasi)

An abstract piece, done as a distraction from the series of doors I was painting at the same time. Here I explored my old style of painting on top of dried textured paste (allowing the texture and pattern to influence the subconscious placement of paint).

The pattern was inspired by a piece of japanese pottery I bought in the 90s.

Coincidentally, Tropical Cyclone Yasi occured during this period of time.
