Firebark Ent

One of my original textural/Impasto experiments. I was inspired by the raw and rough textures of tree trunks. The image is centred with a face amidst the flaming bark.

Friends and well-wishers of the image were either intrigue or repulsed by it. The "face" brought a whimsical curious character to the image, while others saw a demonic representation.

It currently with my friend Tim, who is in the horticultural industry.
