2005 Dec - Origami

I decided to pass my free time between life and destination with a thousand paper cranes.

Based off that old childhood tale of a girl who wanted to fold 1000 paper cranes to grant her wish. Unfortunately she died due to illness and never finished the complete set. Variations of the story advices to release the cranes from a mountain top, into the wind, when making the wish.

My version merely reminds me of my wish for happiness.

My cat at the time, Jacinta, started ripping each crane off the bottom as she got older - perhaps it was a sign. I repainted canvas in a sunset hue and reapplied part of the salvaged cranes to form another piece:
